Today we are going to explore the pieces created by me, Justin James Pineiro, founder of Visions Media.
Everything has a story, without one it becomes difficult to understand where something came from. Here I will attempt to share a part of mine which gave meaning to these works.
Traveling has become a huge part of my journey in this world along many others that often go unseen. In May of 2017 I visited the incredibly inspiring beauty of the island, Maui, of Hawaii and encountered a dear friend of mine by the name of Pluma. This true mystic of a human hosted me this time around in Kihei where we connected, practiced yoga, visited beautiful beaches and I was given the opportunity to dive into a bit of what her experience on Earth had been. Pluma was the director of the Temple team for Lightning in a Bottle which I became a bit of an understudy for her at the time along with my program lead for Summit at Sea 2015 as the Wellness Director.
In this time I shared with Pluma she allowed me the opportunity to find myself in ways my soul was yearning for, one was through healing music and trusting in the process of expressing it and the other was with photography. We took a trip to a beautiful waterfall in Maui, one of many, and I began taking pictures of her with a filter that made everything pink and black, seeing things in a sort of inkblot format that took my mind places it had not had the chance to explore within my own imagination prior to this experience. This was the beginning of a process that proceeded on the big island of Hawaii.
This was the first time I visited the big island. I was invited to stay with a friend in Papaikou to visit a beautiful property he purchased and collaborate on a project that would become a bigger part of the experience on my next journey to the island 6 months later. The wonders of the big island are infinite along with the mystical energy intertwined with all who dwell there, including or maybe especially the animals.
If you have ever been to Hawaii or Puerto Rico you may be familiar with the Coqui frogs which make themselves very known with the beautiful “Co-qui” sounds they make. The sounds of these creatures took my soul on a journey. All I could see in my mind when I closed my eyes was visions of geometrical patterns within nature. I witnessed how they were creating an energetic grid of invisible but palpable force with their collective voice. Their purpose became very clear for me and all I could do for days was find the intricate patterns within images mostly reflecting some sort of nature, with or without a human influence captured in the photos themselves. Within each reflection I began to discover creatures, patterns, Godly expressions and hidden realities. Each image became its own inspiration and its own maze to travel through.
Moving forward I will be offering the option for you to become your own piece to be printed onto Plexiglass and showcased in any space you desire.
